Dotted-Texture Double-Ring Mobius Stainless Steel Water-Feature Sculpture

This water-feature sculpture welds an even pattern of raised dot texture across the entire surface of an interwoven double-ring Mobius form fabricated from 304/316 stainless steel, then brings the textured surface to a full 8K mirror polish despite the considerable additional surface area introduced by the dot pattern. Polishing a dotted, textured surface to a consistent mirror brightness is considerably more labor-intensive than polishing a smooth surface, since every individual raised dot must be brought to the same level of finish as the surrounding flat areas, but the resulting texture produces a far richer, more complex pattern of light and shadow than a smooth mirror surface could achieve on its own.

Designed specifically for installation directly on water, the twisted double-ring form produces a striking symmetrical reflection when placed on a still lake or pool surface, with the raised dot texture adding an additional layer of subtle shimmer across the reflected image that shifts noticeably as the water surface moves with wind or current. The endlessly interwoven double-ring structure speaks to themes of perpetual, harmonious cycles, while the textured surface gives the piece a distinctive tactile and visual signature that differentiates it clearly from smoother Mobius-form pieces elsewhere in the collection.
